Jack Nicklaus designed Muirfield Village as one of the toughest tests on the PGA Tour.
Every year, the PGA Tour arrives at Muirfield Village and players are tested to the extreme during the Memorial Tournament.

And golf courses almost always identify the best players.
Jack Nicklaus himself won the Memorial Tournament in 1977 and 1984, so he clearly knows what it takes to get the job done at Muirfield Village.

Niklaus is always listening to players’ opinions on possible improvements to Muirfield Village, and has made a number of changes over the years.
The course looks to be in great shape this year as usual, and the testing is incredibly challenging, but with a very fair setup.
Jack Nicklaus is horrified by what he sees in Muirfield Village.
Nicklaus was speaking on Golf Channel during the second round at The Memorial.

And when asked what he thought about the golf on display at Muirfield Village on Friday, Kanekuma replied:

“I think the PGA Tour did a really good job with the pin settings today.“ Nicklaus said.
“The pins were all available and if the tour had hidden them today, the scores would have been very high.
“No, today’s 65 is a sensational score. I can’t believe there are people who can hit 65 right now.“
JT Poston is the man who scored that sensational score Friday at Muirfield Village.
Sensational putting was the basis of JT Poston’s round
On Friday at The Memorial, Poston had nine pars, eight birdies and his only bogey, leading by one heading into the third round.

Muirfield Village came into its own on Friday, jumping its average score to 74.119.
Poston played some truly sensational golf on the second day, but much of his good work came with his putter.
The 33-year-old extended more than four strokes on the green on his second day at Muirfield Village.
Jack Nicklaus was clearly very impressed with what he saw from JT Poston at Muirfield Village on Friday.
Is it impossible to get a better compliment in the game of golf?
