Hull City star Joe Gerhart, on loan, is rumored to be on the verge of leaving Leeds United permanently this summer.
The 24-year-old was on loan at the Championship club last season, where he scored 15 goals. He has contributed to the team’s promotion to the Premier League and is expected to join the Tigers permanently. Gerhardt also had six assists along the way.
He has no future at Leeds United and it remains to be seen whether Hull City can secure a deal. According to journalist Belen Cross, there is no way the 24-year-old striker will return to Leeds United and the Tigers will aim to secure a contract.
In the latest update, Cross told The Athletic: “Hull’s promotion to the Premier League and Gerhardt’s success there would suggest a deal could be done, but Leeds will have to see who else likes the forward and how much they are willing to pay. It is difficult to see a route for Gerhardt back to Leeds.”
Hull City will likely consider signing the player for a reasonable fee. He has been outstanding for them and it makes sense for them to keep the 24-year-old at the club for the long term. His quality will be needed in the final third next season.
Gerhard, on the other hand, wants to quickly sort out his future and concentrate on his football. A permanent move to Hull City would be ideal for him. He will likely be able to play regularly in the top league next season.
This attacker is at the peak of his career and needs to play regularly at a high level. Playing the Tigers in the Premier League would be ideal for all parties.
