Alison Li and Ruoning Ying grabbed a share of the mid-way lead at the U.S. Women’s Open at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, with Nelly Korda joining the fray.

Local hope Li shot a 68 in the second round to move to four under par with China’s Yin. He was one of only two players without a bogey on Friday, and with his second 69, he is the only player to break 70 on both days.

“I love it,” Yin said of playing the tricky course. “I always say the more difficult (the course), the better.”

The night’s leader, Jennifer Kupcho, shot a 73 to put her in the top six, one stroke behind the lead.

Korda, ranked number one in the world, shot a 67, the lowest round of the day, and was just two strokes behind the leader.

England’s Lottie Ward birdied the 16th hole to finish the weekend on the cut mark with a 73, one stroke behind compatriot Charlie Hull.
