Tottenham remain in a strong position to seal the move for Manchester City striker Sabinho, according to reports.

The Brazilian was keen to join Spurs a year ago and is a signing to watch this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano revealed on his YouTube channel that he feels Sabinho’s move to Tottenham will happen “soon”, while also confirming that Marcos Senesi’s free transfer from Bournemouth is also expected to be announced.

Important updates on Fabrizio Romano’s transfer to Tottenham – Senesi and Savinho

Speaking about Tottenham’s exciting transfer news in his latest YouTube post, Romano said: “Sabinho was ready to go to Tottenham a year ago. So when Man City say you have to stay, Josep Guardiola believes in you. Obviously Sabinho was happy to stay, continue and sign a new contract as he did in September.”

“But Savinho was attracted to Tottenham a year ago, and today Savinho is still attracted to Tottenham. So, on the player side, I don’t think there are any big problems. I think on the player side, Savinho and Tottenham will be able to solve it quickly.”

“Right now Manchester City and Tottenham are negotiating, talking and talking about the transfer fee. So let’s be patient. We’ll see what happens there. But Tottenham are working on it. Tottenham are working on signing Savino. Tottenham are working on signing Savino.”

He added: “Tottenham have announced Andy Robertson today and soon Tottenham will also announce Marco Senesi as their new centre-back, joining from Bournemouth. So Tottenham are very busy giving Roberto De Zerbi what he wants.”

Tottenham need a good summer

THFC look to be off to a strong start to the summer, which is absolutely essential if they are to improve after back-to-back 17th-place finishes in the Premier League.

The north London side only narrowly avoided relegation on the final day of the season, so signing players like Sabinho and Senesi following the arrival of Robertson could put them in a stronger position.

It’s still early days, but Spurs appear to have started the summer in earnest and fans will be hoping this will see them challenge for a top-four spot again rather than languishing at the other end of the table.
