After a tough defeat in Game 1, the Edmonton Oilers bounced back to win the next two games in the Western Conference Finals. Leading the series 2-1, the Oilers have the chance to put the Dallas Stars in a tough spot with a Game 4 matchup set for Tuesday night.

In Game 3, Edmonton dominated with a 6-1 victory over Dallas. Defensemen Evan Bouchard and Conor McDavid scored just 36 seconds apart to give the Oilers an early lead. McDavid then scored again later in the game, marking his first multi-goal game of the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs. Though Dallas’s Jason Robertson scored his first postseason goal midway through the second period to narrow the gap to 2-1, Dallas couldn’t close the gap as Edmonton scored four unanswered goals.

Dallas faced some challenges in Game 3, especially with Roope Hintz sidelined after a hit from Edmonton’s Darnell Nurse in Game 2. Hintz missed Game 3 but participated in practice Monday, offering hope for his availability in Game 4. Meanwhile, Edmonton’s goalie Calvin Picard is practicing and could back up Stuart Skinner for the upcoming game, though the Oilers will be without forward Connor Brown due to an injury from Game 3.

Here’s the Western Conference Finals schedule:

– Game 1: Stars 6, Oilers 3
– Game 2: Oilers 3, Stars 0
– Game 3: Oilers 6, Stars 1
– Game 4: Tuesday, May 27 | 8 PM | Edmonton | ESPN
– Game 5: Thursday, May 29 | 8 PM | Dallas | ESPN
– Game 6*: Saturday, May 31 | 8 PM | Edmonton | ABC
– Game 7*: Monday, June 2 | 8 PM | Dallas | ESPN

Odds from DraftKings show the Oilers as favorites with -330 in the series and -166 for Game 4, while the Stars are the underdogs at +270 in the series and +140 for Game 4.

Prediction: Despite Edmonton’s strong showing so far, Dallas needs to avoid falling into a 3-1 series hole. Expect Jake Oettinger to shake off any rust, and the Stars’ depth offense to push them to a 4-2 win over the Oilers in Game 4.

Fan Take: This series is crucial because it highlights the intensity and unpredictability of playoff hockey, where momentum can shift quickly. How both teams respond under pressure might define their legacies and offer fans thrilling moments that keep the spirit of the game alive.
