Arsenal want to sign Morgan Rodgers and are waiting for the Aston Villa attacker to start pushing for a move himself.

Arsenal have been very patient and have built a very good team, and after a season in which they won the league title and reached the Champions League final, it looks like they are going to slow down a bit.

TeamTalk reports that the Gunners are keeping a close eye on Aston Villa’s Morgan Rodgers, with “increasing confidence” that the England attacker will “reveal his strong desire to join the Gunners this summer”.

They speculate that such a deal could “set a new record for the club” as it would cost more than £100m.

Arsenal need to open the door for Rodgers

Despite an impressive season, there is no doubt that the Gunners need more creativity and stability in attack. If they had scored a few more goals, their race for the title would have been much easier.

Rodgers would be expensive to sign, but Arsenal can now afford to buy from the top shelf. There is a lot of attention on the player, and if he wants to move on, he will need to make a move after the World Cup.

In other news…

Luka Vuskovic’s name will be familiar to many this summer, with a number of Premier League teams attempting to sign him.

The first big deal of the summer is still a long way off, but some teams are concerned that a move for a player like Elliott Anderson could reset the summer market.
