Harry Maguire, who has been a key player in Gareth Southgate’s England team for many years, was widely expected to be called up to the England squad this summer. he got nothing.

They would then have expected him to be called up to replace Tino Livramento, who was injured last week. He didn’t get it either.

The defender explained why he thought Chelsea’s Trevor Chalobah was preferable to him and Trent Alexander-Arnold as an emergency call-up.

Charova agreed without making a fuss.

“I believe that if someone drops out like that, we as a team need to bring someone in with minimal fuss, no real media attention about it, no disruption to camp,” Maguire said while working as a pundit for “Rest is Football.”

“I don’t think Trent would have been called up. If it was an important game, all the questions would have been about him. If he had called me, it would have been about me,” added the experienced England defender.

“It’s the same with Luke Shaw. We’ve played in previous tournaments and he’s playing for a big club. But congratulations to Trevor. I hope he does well and has an impact on the team,” he said, summarizing Chalobah’s arrival.

Chalobar is the perfect player for this situation. He is England’s most under-the-radar player. He’s not going to play, he’s not going to cause any trouble, he’s not going to make headlines.

He’s going to work hard, bring positive energy and be ready in case the team needs to call on him. It’s a great reward for an impressively consistent few years in the Premier League.

Hayden Hackney has been a big name in the Championship for some time now, but it looks like this year could be the moment he moves to the Premier League.

All of the Premier League’s top teams are closing in on one very interesting candidate who has yet to agree a new contract with his current club.
