There was a moment earlier this summer when it looked very likely that Julian Alvarez would leave Atletico Madrid.
Real Madrid, PSG and Barcelona were interested in him. Movement always feels more likely when that trio is in charge of your case. However, the sudden rejection of Real’s offer and the lack of serious follow-up from other teams has us rather convinced that Alvarez may end up staying.
Atlético ready to take firm stance on Alvarez after interest from super club
Atlético Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has certainly laid down the law. In an interview with El Desmarque, he said anyone interested should “see the contract.” There they will find a release clause of 500 million euros.
“This seems like a summer story. You all know very well how things are now. Julián is an Atlético Madrid player and I believe he will remain an Atlético Madrid player,” Cerezo concluded.
Things could still change if Alvarez starts applying pressure from his own half, but for now, expect these teams to start looking elsewhere for offensive talent.

Seny Mayur has been in the spotlight this summer and most French sources say he is more likely to sign a new contract than leave PSG this summer.
Fabrizio Romano says Man Utd have already signed one midfielder this summer and are set to sign another before the bidding war begins.
