Luka Vuskovic has been linked with a move from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, with Brighton keen to sign him.
They have made a third offer to sign the 19-year-old central defender for around £45 million. Tottenham are considering the situation and it remains to be seen what decision they will make.
According to a report in The Standard, the 19-year-old defender is prepared to submit a transfer request to force his departure.
Roberto De Zerbi cannot guarantee that he will play in the first team next season, so the young defender wants to move on. He was with Hamburg last season and was outstanding for the German club. He will aim to play regularly at this stage of his career. He has already started for his country at the World Cup.
Vusković is a phenomenal young talent with a big future and will not want to sit on the bench at the London club next year. It remains to be seen whether Brighton can convince Tottenham.
They lost Jan Paul van Hecke to Spurs in the summer and are hoping to sign the 19-year-old Tottenham defender to replace the Dutchman. Vuskovic has all the tools to develop into a top-class player in the future and could be a star for the Seagulls. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop.
Spurs will be under pressure to sign the player. If he submits a transfer request, their negotiating position will only weaken. £45m seems like a significant amount for a 19-year-old defender and the north London club may be wise to allow him to leave.
On the other hand, losing a talented young player like him could be a mistake for Tottenham. They needed more depth on defense and he could be a star for them.
