Clark turned pro in 2017 and made his breakthrough in 2023, including representing the United States in the Ryder Cup.

Now playing at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Clark has another opportunity to add to his career as the 32-year-old competes for the top of the leaderboard at the 2026 U.S. Open.

Here’s a breakdown of Clark’s history at the majors, including the U.S. Open.

Did Windham Clark win a major?

Yes, Clark has already won one major in the past, and that was at the same tournament he found success with in 2026, the US Open.

In June 2023, Clark turned heads at the Los Angeles Country Club. He had never finished higher than 75th in a major tournament, including missing the cut twice in a row at the U.S. Open. However, after finishing the final round with a 70 and a tournament total of 10 under par, Clark held off Rory McIlroy to claim his first major victory.

Windham Clark US Open History

Clark essentially won the U.S. Open after going from abysmal. He made his debut in the tournament in 2021, which ended in him not qualifying, and the result was the same in 2022.

But in 2023, he was at the top of the leaderboard, winning a major and instantly joining the ranks of golf’s monopolies. In 2024, Clark dropped to T56 and missed out on qualifying again in 2025.

Clark has so far failed to replicate his 2023 success, but looks like he can expect a strong finish in 2026, whether he wins again or not.
