The Reds have made Diomande one of their priority attacking targets as they look to further pace and improve long-term quality under manager Andoni Iraola.

The newspaper reported that Liverpool were willing to pay around £86m, while Leipzig were demanding closer to £112m.

PSG have been in contact with Diomande’s representatives in recent weeks, making PSG’s interest a serious issue.

The Evening Standard even reports that the player has verbally agreed terms with the French champions, which could be advantageous for the French champions if he meets Leipzig’s valuation.
