  • Does Man United maintain or sell Fernandez?
  • A considerable dilemma for United to contemplate

One Manchester United player was issued in the transfer ultimate as they were left to weigh up proposals to pay money from overseas.

According to the Daily Mail Tuesday afternoon, Al Giral has decided to offer Bruno Fernandez to “take it or leave it” for three days, with the Saudian professional league club preparing to offer £700,000 a weekly tax-free wage as part of a three-year package worth up to £2 million.

The Riyadh-based outfit will sign up to the marquee player in time to be registered for the FIFA Club World Cup next month, aiming to close out Old Trafford captain as the number one target.

United are very reluctant to sell the 30-year-old, but they may be under financial pressure after stolen £100 million in Champions League revenue after a fateful defeat in the Europa League final last week, as the Portuguese playmaker hinted at themselves over the weekend.

If Fernandez is open to travel, Al-Hilal could put forward a formal approach and a potential £100 million transfer bid.

Does Man United maintain or sell Fernandez?

The United captain appears to be keenly aware of the financial implications of last week’s defeat in Bilbao in Bilbao, and Saudi Arabia’s interest in him gives Old Trafford’s chief an immediate opportunity to bring in the necessary income.

If he tries a new adventure and decides it’s right to make exorbitant sums while he’s in it, the Manchester Club will receive a handsome top-up in the transfer budget, adding a larger range for Reuben Amorim to shape his image team.

If Fernandez likes to stay (the manager has already made his feelings clear in that respect), then that means United holds more than any other player, the one player behind the European run that provided a ray of hope in a disastrous season for England’s 20-time champions.

Ball is on the 30-year-old court, but Alhiral is not ready to stroll around as he considers decisions that will affect his career as well as his family’s livelihood.

A considerable dilemma for United to contemplate

Selling Portuguese midfielders will help fund future moves like Liam Delap and Brian Mbemo over the summer transfer period.

However, Amorim may prefer to do so by clearing a few players who have not had much of an impact on the team as much as Fernandez this season, even if the captain chooses an inappropriate time to sub-performance in the Europa League final.

In any case, the 3-day ultimate for Al Hilal means that Old Trafford’s loyal person will not be long waiting for the 30-year-old decision.
