Victor Gokeres’ situation at Arsenal this summer has been described as “interesting” by transfer news expert Ben Jacobs.
We have reliably heard from sources close to the situation that Goqueres is unlikely to leave Arsenal this summer and it is very unlikely that he will be involved in a swap deal with Julián Álvarez and Atletico Madrid.

Jacobs has made a similar report, but will probably be a little more open to the possibility of the Sweden international leaving the Emirates Stadium for the right price.
Read below what Jacobs told Latte Firm about Arsenal’s expected transfers this summer, including a positive update on Morgan Rodgers.
When asked specifically about Gokeres, Jacobs said, “Victor Gokeres is an attractive situation. He could be available on the market for the right price.”
If Gokeres is available, and he reaches a certain number, Arsenal won’t refuse him outright.
“I don’t think he’s for sale, but I don’t think he’s untouchable either.”
Will Victor Gokeres leave Arsenal after just one season?
As already mentioned, information available today suggests that Arsenal are not considering letting Gokeres go, and that the former Sporting Lisbon player has not asked to leave after just one year at the club.

Of course, the 28-year-old had a bit of a mixed first season with the Gunners, so it’s true that in theory he could be worth something, and it might not be an exorbitant sum.
At the same time, there are currently no negotiations taking place and it is mostly just noise, with both club and player on the same page regarding pre-season and preparations for the 2026/27 season.
Even if a player like Álvarez is likely to be promoted, the deal looks extremely ambitious at the moment, with Atlético Madrid reluctant to sell and even complaining to FIFA about the way Barcelona approached the deal.
Gökeres joined the AFC at a time when the market for strikers was difficult, but the situation hasn’t changed much since last year.
