The final marquee event of the 2026 PGA Tour season was supposed to end Sunday, but the Travelers Championship went into a playoff after 72 holes weren’t enough to crown a champion due to weather delays, but a dark decision called for it to end Monday. The final $20 million Travelers Championship of the regular season at TPC River Highlands featured some of the best players in the game competing, but only world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland will be in the playoffs.
Scheffler and Hovland will take the course at 9 a.m. ET, which will be broadcast live on Golf Channel. They will play the 18th hole repeatedly until one outperforms the other in a head-to-head playoff matchup.
TPC River Highlands provides a friendlier venue for weary golfers who have just completed the tough climbs of Sinek Hills at the U.S. Open, and Scheffler, who enters as the clear favorite, has a chance to win on Monday. He’s looking for his first win since the season-opening American Express, while Hvarlund is looking for his first win in 15 months since going winless in 2025.
