Victor Gokeres has been linked with a move from Arsenal in recent weeks.
There were recently rumors that the player was being offered to Atletico Madrid as part of a deal with Julián Álvarez.
It will be interesting to see whether Arsenal make a move to sign the South American international this summer. If that happens, there is a possibility that the Swedish national team will be lowered in the hierarchy within the club. He scored 21 goals for Arsenal last season, helping them win the Premier League. There is no doubt that he is a quality player and could be a very useful option in the right team.
Following rumors of a possible move this summer, the Arsenal striker now insists he is comfortable at Arsenal, although he would be honored to be linked with other clubs.
He told Fotoborskallen: “Of course I’m happy that clubs are interested, but I feel very comfortable at Arsenal. I have nothing but positive feelings after the season.”
It would be very surprising if Arsenal decided to sign the player. Even if they end up signing a quality striker, the Sweden international should remain at the club. He performed very well in his first season with them and is now firmly established in the Premier League.
In order to achieve good results in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League, they need depth in their attacking line. Gokeres could be a Plan B for them and will score goals for them.
It remains to be seen how the situation will play out, but it seems the player is happy at Arsenal and wants to continue with the club. It seems unlikely that the Gunners will force him away from the club anytime soon.
