  • Guglielmo Vicario expected to leave Spurs this summer
  • Napoli and Inter Milan also interested in Vicario

Juventus’ new CEO Giovanni Carnevali has confirmed that the club is actively monitoring Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario as a key target in the summer transfer window.

Speaking to the media about the Bianconeri’s summer recruitment strategy, Carnevali made no secret of the club’s desire to secure a top-tier presence between the posts.

When asked about the possibility of a long-term replacement for the number one, the executive admitted that the Italy international was high on his priority list.

“Div Martinez is a top player with international experience, but he is not the only name being considered,” Carnevali revealed (quoted by Fabrizio Romano).

“We have many more profiles on our list and we are also thinking about Guglielmo Vicario and others.”

The public announcement confirmed that Juventus are ready to fight for the 29-year-old, who has spent the past three seasons in the Premier League.

Aston Villa’s Martinez remains another option, but the huge financial demands associated with World Cup winners Argentina make Vicario a very real and market-appealing alternative for the Turin giants.

Guglielmo Vicario expected to leave Spurs this summer

Speculation has increased over Vicario’s future at Tottenham in recent months.

During last season’s injury spell, Antonin Kinski took his chance and impressed with a series of solid performances that convinced the club he could be their long-term first-choice goalkeeper.

Tottenham have reportedly agreed a deal to sign experienced goalkeeper Martin Dubravka on a free transfer, further strengthening their goalkeeping department and adding more competition ahead of the new season.

Kinski is expected to start the season as manager Roberto De Zerbi’s first-choice goalkeeper, raising the possibility that Vicario will leave the club.

Napoli and Inter Milan also interested in Vicario

Juventus are not the only Serie A club monitoring Vicario’s situation.

Napoli recently joined Tottenham in the race for the goalkeeper, but Inter Milan maintain long-standing interest and continue to assess the possibility of bringing him back to Italy.

Tottenham could find themselves at the center of a competitive transfer battle if they allow him to leave during the summer, with several of Serie A’s biggest clubs pursuing the 29-year-old.
