Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Crystal Palace star Ismaila Sarr, who excelled for Senegal at the 2026 World Cup this summer.

Unfortunately, the 28-year-old was unable to improve on his record of four goals and one assist in four games in this competition, with Belgium making a dramatic late comeback to win yesterday’s final 32 match.

Sarr scored in Senegal’s 2-0 win over Belgium, but the Palace forward will be returning home.

And according to a report from TEAMtalk, a move could be on the table as Man United are interested in the former Watford man.

Ismaila Sarr is an underrated talent who would be perfect to sign for Manchester United

To be honest, it’s surprising that it took this long for more serious transfer gossip to emerge regarding Sarr, who was so impressive during his time at Palace.

Sarr, who has previously performed well at Watford and Marseille, has at times shown signs that he is approaching elite status, even if he falls just short.

Yet Sarr, who has just scored 21 goals in all competitions this season for Palace, has been surprisingly consistent and looks to be in perhaps the best form of his career, though perhaps showing signs of being a bit of a late bloomer.

Sarr, who can play wide or up front, could strengthen United’s squad by giving manager Michael Carrick depth behind the current front three of Benjamin Sesco, Matheus Cunha and Brian Mbeumo.

The Senegalese international also appears to be a good fit, as are Cunha and Mbeumo, who both joined Old Trafford after impressing at mid-table Premier League clubs.

Sarr’s experience at Palace could make it easier for him to adapt quickly and make the necessary impact at MUFC.

Now that the World Cup in Senegal is over, it will be interesting to see if United can start working on this potential deal very quickly.
