Liverpool are currently eyeing five replacements for Yann Diomande, including Fulham star Kevin

  • Liverpool eye Kevin as replacement for Yann Diomande
  • Signing Bradley Barcola makes more sense than signing Kevin

Liverpool have compiled a target list of five wingers who are believed to have missed out on RB Leipzig’s Yann Diomande.

The Reds are currently not prepared to make a new offer for the Ivorian, considering he wants to join current European champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Following the departure of Mohamed Salah, it will be vital that Andoni Iraola brings in a new winger this summer, with Fulham star Kevin emerging as a target.

Football Fancast Verdict

reliability

Salah’s nine-year spell at Anfield comes to an end at the end of the 2025-26 season, further increasing Liverpool’s need to sign a new winger. Victor Muñoz was an early addition after joining from Osasuna, but the 22-year-old is still relatively inexperienced and has only made 40 top-flight appearances at club level, so it could make sense to bring in another option.

finances

Kevin joined Fulham from Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal worth 40 million euros (about 34 million pounds) last summer, which served as a guide to the transfer fee, but the Brazilian currently earns 50,000 pounds a week, considerably less than many of Liverpool’s key players.

insight

The former Shakhtar man made 31 appearances in all competitions for Fulham last season, scoring three goals and providing four assists, but his return was relatively modest. However, Shakhtar’s sporting director Dario Srna could not praise him enough, saying: “Fulham have great wingers, great skills, very quick, good one-on-one and good defensively.”

impact

Like Munoz, the 23-year-old is unlikely to be a direct replacement for Salah as he is a left winger by trade. Should Liverpool sign him over the line, Iraola would have plenty of options on the left, with Kodi Gakpo and Rio Ngmoha also at his disposal.

Liverpool eye Kevin as replacement for Yann Diomande

According to a report from Anfield Watch, Liverpool are currently searching for a replacement for Diomande and have identified five players as targets: Kevin, Bradley Barcola, Matheus Mane, Said El Mara and Bazmana Toure.

A year on from his €40m (about £34m) move to Craven Cottage, the Reds are eyeing a deal for the Fulham wide man, but it is unclear whether their Premier League rivals will consider a sale, with the player still under contract until 2030.

Signing Bradley Barcola makes more sense than signing Kevin

Kevin only scored one Premier League goal in his debut season, suggesting he may not be at the current level to join a club like Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Barcora has won the Champions League twice with PSG, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists last season as the team won the Ligue 1 title.

In fact, the Frenchman is PSG’s top scorer in the league and is more accustomed to playing on the right than Kevin, having played on the right in 37 games for Lyon and PSG, including games between Lyon’s U19s and B team.

At 23, Barcola is the same age as Kevin, but he has already achieved far more in the game and would be a much more exciting signing for Liverpool.
