  • Who else could Manchester United sign in midfield this summer?
  • Is Alex Scott likely to move to Arsenal?

Manchester United have reportedly not given up on a potential move for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott.

The 22-year-old has shone with the Cherries and it seems inevitable that he will move to a big club sooner rather than later.

According to The Sun, Man United may not want to pay a huge sum for the Scot, who is valued at £80 million, but it seems they are not ready to walk away from the deal just yet.

According to BBC Sport, the Red Devils have reportedly already signed Ederson from Atalanta, with Scott apparently next on their list.

It remains to be seen whether United ultimately make Scott a priority, but their plan appears to be to bring in a second player in midfield.

Who else could Manchester United sign in midfield this summer?

According to Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, MUFC have several other names in mind if they do not move on to sign Scott.

The Italian journalist also named Real Madrid’s Aurelian Choameni, Chelsea’s Andrei Santos and Brighton’s Carlos Baleva as players to watch for the club this summer.

Interestingly, this may suggest that the connection to Scott may not be as concrete as others have claimed.

Is Alex Scott likely to move to Arsenal?

This certainly lines up well with other reports, including one that says Arsenal have made Scott a priority alongside Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães.

According to Simon Phillips, there is talk that Chelsea are keeping an eye on Scott, but that could depend on Santos eventually leaving.

So it looks like this whole midfielder’s merry-go-round is still relatively early on, and we might not know much more about him for a while.
