Fabrizio Romano shares latest information on Emiliano Martinez to Juventus
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have today established direct contact with Emiliano “Div” Martinez’s agent.
The Aston Villa shot-stopper remains a priority target in the Bianconeri hierarchy.
However, securing his services will not be easy. Any potential transfer will depend entirely on Aston Villa’s financial needs. As things stand, Juventus believe Villa’s valuation is too high.
Due to the complexity and cost of the operation, formal negotiations have been postponed and are expected to be rushed after the World Cup.
If Martinez’s contract proves too expensive, Juventus could turn to Guglielmo Vicario
Juventus have already drawn up alternative plans if the financial demands from the Premier League side prove insurmountable.
The Italian giants will be keeping an eye on Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
The 29-year-old Italian international would be a very attractive alternative option. Juve see Martinez as a reliable replacement who can be secured in a more manageable financial package to get their defensive transition on track should Martinez prove completely unavailable.
Spurs likely to sell Guglielmo Vicario
Tottenham appear fully keen to facilitate Vicario’s return to Serie A. Under head coach Roberto de Zerbi, the north London club has undergone rapid changes in the goalkeeping hierarchy.
Spurs recently extended the contract of 23-year-old Czech talent Antonin Kinski. He is certainly expected to be the first-choice goalie going forward after stepping up in the second half of last season.

Additionally, Tottenham have added experience to their squad by signing veteran Martin Dubravka on a free transfer as a principal replacement.
With Kinski and Dubravka firmly established in the team, Vicario is now able to fulfill the requirements, paving the way for him to leave the club in the summer.
