In the past 24 hours, the news that Manchester United are close to signing Andrej Santos from Chelsea for £50m has had many talking about a midfield revolution at Old Trafford, but after all, the Red Devils have only recently signed Ederson from Atalanta.

But they haven’t done that. A transfer fee of 45 million euros was agreed and the player seemed to want to leave, so everyone said the deal was done. However, it has not yet been confirmed or diagnosed by a doctor.

This has led to speculation that the whole thing could collapse, with Brazilian sources spreading scary stories that it is on the brink of collapse.

But Team Talk is here to calm things down. According to their sources, “everything will be confirmed in due course” and that the move is “well advanced and currently underway”. It’s just a matter of logistics.

Santos and Ederson appear to be arriving this summer to add Brazilian backbone to Michael Carrick’s squad for next season, but the new signings probably won’t stop there either.

Fabrizio Romano reports today that Barcelona are looking to sign a fleet-footed new attacker in Hansi Flick.
