Arsenal are rumored to be interested in signing Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa.
The 28-year-old has enjoyed a good run with the West Midlands club and is currently on international duty with England at the World Cup. The Premier League champions are monitoring him and could consider a move.
Ezri Konsa’s asking price revealed
According to Football Insider, Aston Villa will demand more than £50 million for the defender. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal are prepared to pay that much for an England international. They have a world-class defense and Konsa is unlikely to start every week. It would be very unlikely to spend £50 million on a player who might not start every week.
Arsenal should instead look to invest in quality attackers. They already have one of the best defensive units in the world. But it looks pretty mediocre for the past year. It remains to be seen whether they can add more quality to the side and add a reliable finisher to the squad.
They lost to PSG in last season’s final and are aiming to win next season’s UEFA Champions League.
The concert may imagine the movement
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old Aston Villa defender could be tempted by the idea of joining Arsenal. This could be his last chance to join an elite club. It would be a big step up in his career, but the asking price would complicate a potential move. There is no doubt that at the right price he could be a very useful player for Arsenal.
It remains to be seen how the situation will develop in the coming weeks.
