Florian Plettenberg latest information on Jurgen Klopp vs Germany

According to Sky Germany correspondent Florian Plettenberg, the wheels are firmly in motion across the Atlantic.

“It has become clear that initial negotiations between Jurgen Klopp, Marc Kosicke and the DFB, represented by Bernd Neuendorf and Hans-Joachim Watzke, are currently underway in New York,” Plettenberg told X.

“Final negotiations between the DFB and Red Bull are scheduled between Watzke and Oliver Mintzlaff in New York early next week.”

The reporter added that everything is currently going according to plan and an official announcement will be made once the final documents are signed.

Klopp is expected to be given a long-term contract until 2030, although some administrative details still remain.

Klopp is the perfect person to revitalize Germany

Following Germany’s disappointing exit from the 2026 World Cup and the departure of manager Julian Nagelsmann, the DFB moved quickly to sign Klopp.

Klopp represents the ultimate coup for a national team that has struggled for identity and consistency in recent major tournaments.
