  • Manchester United considering signing Ayyoub Bouadi
  • Huge valuation creates difficult decision for United

Manchester United are looking to strengthen their midfield and could find themselves in direct competition with Manchester City for one of their World Cup breakout stars.

United need more poise, mobility and long-term quality in central areas, but the growing demand for Europe’s best young players means any deal is likely to be expensive.

The teenager’s performances for Morocco have transformed him from an exciting Ligue 1 prospect to one of the most talked about names this summer.

However, Man United also need immediate and experienced reinforcements in midfield and will need to decide whether to invest heavily in players for the future.

Manchester United considering signing Ayyoub Bouadi

X’s sources claim that Manchester United are planning to take over Manchester City as they bid to sign Ayyoub Bouadi.

The claims have yet to be confirmed by either club, but United are reportedly preparing to join the race after the midfielder played a key role in Morocco’s run to the World Cup quarter-finals.

His calmness, tactical awareness and ability to deal with pressure have attracted interest from some of Europe’s leading clubs.

talkSPORT report that United, City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are monitoring Bouadi, with Lille potentially demanding up to €100m for an immediate transfer.

It is reported that a deal worth closer to €80 million could be considered if the player remains in France on loan for another season.

Huge valuation creates difficult decision for United

Competition is already becoming more complex.

FourFourTwo report that Arsenal and Liverpool are willing to accept Lille’s loan back terms, with Manchester City also among the clubs interested.

Bouadi’s contract runs until 2029, giving Lille a good negotiating position.

Bouadi has the potential to become an elite midfielder and Man United should seriously consider a move.

Signing him before his development accelerates even more could end up being great business.

But €80 million is still a huge gamble for an 18-year-old who may not be able to arrive immediately.

United need players who can strengthen their midfield next season, as well as prospects beyond 2027.
