  • Manchester United ready to fund ambitious move
  • United wait for season opener with Bayern’s confidence

Manchester United are on the hunt for an elite centre-forward and could end up returning to one of the biggest names in English football.

The club are understood to be keeping a close eye on developments in Germany, aware that a rare opportunity could present itself if Bayern Munich are unable to secure their star striker on a new deal.

From United’s perspective, the appeal is clear. They will be signing a proven goalscorer in the Premier League, England’s captain and an experienced leader who can immediately raise standards.

The difficulty is that Bayern remain confident of keeping him, while some of Europe’s biggest clubs are also monitoring the situation.

Manchester United ready to fund ambitious move

According to TEAMtalk, Harry Kane remains on Man United’s wishlist and the club are willing to finance a move if a genuine opportunity presents itself.

The 32-year-old is in the final year of his contract with Bayern, but the German champions have reportedly been in talks with his agent for months and believe an extension is a matter of “when, not if.”

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is a long-time fan and says United would be prepared to spend big if they were to sign Kane.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are conducting investigations, while Tottenham continue to monitor the situation of their former captain.

United wait for season opener with Bayern’s confidence

Summer contracts still seem difficult. The Independent reported earlier this year that Bayern had entered into intensive extension talks with Kane, whose current contract runs until June 2027.

His extraordinary goalscoring record in Germany explains why Bayern are determined to avoid losing control of his future.

Manchester United need to stay in the loop without building their entire transfer plan around Kane. He will provide the purpose, leadership and immediate authority needed to improve a developing team.

But United cannot afford to wait too long for a move that may never be realistic.

Bayern are confident and competition from Madrid, Barcelona and Tottenham will be huge money.

If Kane is indeed available, United should take decisive action. Until then, alternative striker targets must be prepared, as ambition is important but smart planning is even more important.
