Manchester United are reportedly looking to make a third signing for Roma midfielder Manu Kone’s position this summer and have recently made contact with his agent.
The Red Devils have already officially confirmed that Youri Tielemans and Andrej Santos will join their midfield squad, but surprisingly they seem to be looking for more players in that area of the team.
There was definitely a need for a replacement for the departing Casemiro, but with Manuel Ugarte also suffering from a general lack of form and injury, it seemed prudent to bring in two new players.

However, number 3 seems a little too much when other positions also definitely need to be strengthened.
Still, Romano said he had been in touch regarding connections as United continued their search for new signings.

“Manchester United are still looking at midfielders. There are (a) lot of names for defensive midfielders,” Romano said in his latest post on his YouTube channel.
“A lot of people are asking me, can you name some names? It’s too early to say who will be a wanted player at Manchester United. I’ll tell you that he will develop there in the next few days.”
“For example, I can say that Manchester United have called Manu Kone’s agent at Roma.[He is]one of the players they rate highly. There have been calls in the last few days. Let’s see if the story develops.”

“They are targeting more defensive midfielders. But Man United are looking for players like that.”
MUFC are clearly determined to have enough quality and depth in their midfield, and Kone looks like a good option.
Still, it will be interesting to see what this means for Koby Mainu’s playing time after his impressive form at Old Trafford last season.
