Tottenham face a demand of £68m for the target after the World Cup and are prepared to pay £34m

Andreas Schjelderup is rumored to be linked with a move from Benfica after his impressive performance at the World Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the teams interested in signing the 22-year-old and are willing to offer €40 million to make a deal happen. According to Portuguese publication Record, that alone was not enough to seal the deal.

Meanwhile, TEAMtalk report that an offer of around £68 million would be required to complete a deal. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to pay a premium for him.

There is no doubt that they need more quality in their attacking line and the 22-year-old could be a very useful option for them. He can create chances with his speed and flair. He will also score goals. Tottenham are struggling in the wide areas and need to invest in technically talented wide players.

The opportunity to play in the Premier League will be exciting for the Norwegian national team. It will be a step up in his career and will test him at the highest level.

Tottenham have an ambitious squad and have signed some quality players this summer. They have bounced back strongly from a disappointing season and will be aiming to win trophies next season.

Signing the Norwegian attacker will certainly contribute to their development in the final third. He is still a young player with great potential and could develop even further with coaching and guidance. Even if Tottenham do spend a premium on him, they should be able to justify the investment in the long term.
