  • Eduardo Camavinga joins Manchester United – what we know so far
  • Can Manchester United find space for Camavinga?

Manchester United are reportedly interested in Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, with a move potentially possible this summer.

The France international did not quite live up to expectations during his time at the Bernabéu, playing in midfield and at times at left-back.

Despite arriving with a reputation as one of the greatest child prodigies in world football, Camavinga has ultimately established himself as a utility man at Real Madrid and it appears he could be allowed to leave.

Journalist Nicolo Sylla claims Manchester United are interested in Camavinga this summer…

This is actually nothing new, as there has been uncertainty regarding Camavinga’s future for some time, with United often mentioned as a potential suitor.

Eduardo Camavinga joins Manchester United – what we know so far

It has previously been reported that Camavinga is attracting admiration from Arsenal as well as United.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail recently reported that the 23-year-old could be available for new Madrid manager Jose Mourinho as he considers the squad he will inherit when he takes over this summer.

But ultimately, there are no clear signs that a deal is progressing at the moment, so just MUFC being interested in the player isn’t really an update.

It’s also unclear whether signing a third in that position would make much sense, seeing as United have already signed two midfielders this summer, in Youri Tielemans and Andrej Santos.

Can Manchester United find space for Camavinga?

While it’s good to have depth in the squad, it won’t be easy for Michael Carrick to make room for all three of Tielemans, Santos and Camavinga.

Given that Camavinga has struggled to become an automatic starter at Real, he probably won’t be too happy about coming to Old Trafford and playing a similar role.

That being said, the Red Devils may need to rotate more often as they prepare for Champions League football next season, and with Casemiro’s departure and Manuel Ugarte’s injury, there are holes that need to be filled in this squad.
