Fabrizio Romano updates on Arsenal and Bruno Guimarães

Fabrizio Romano has given a huge update on his YouTube channel about Arsenal’s specific push for the 28-year-old Newcastle captain.

“Arsenal is ready to make a new bid for Bruno Guimarães…Arsenal is in full agreement with Bruno Guimarães on personal terms. That means the deal is ready and the deal is done. Bruno has said yes to the Arsenal project.”

According to Romano, Guimarães has made it clear to the Newcastle management that he wants to join Mikel Arteta’s team.

The midfielder remains respectful of Newcastle and hopes to avoid a bitter exit, but it is clear he is looking for a new challenge.

“Bruno wants to be respectful to Newcastle so he doesn’t want to break up the relationship, but Bruno wants to go. Bruno has made it clear to Newcastle that he is going.”

Newcastle had previously rejected a verbal offer from Arsenal, which included an offer of £55m plus £10m worth of add-ons.

However, the Gunners are now expected to test Newcastle’s resolve with a formal offer worth up to £70m.

Newcastle insist they do not want to sell him, but Arsenal hope they can negotiate a bid of just over £70 million.

Arsenal remain disciplined after recently withdrawing from negotiations when Morgan Rodgers’ price soared to £117m, but Arteta is moving relentlessly behind the scenes to sign Guimarães.

“The expectation from those in charge of the contract is that Arsenal will make a fresh bid after reaching the £55m plus £10m extra fee that Newcastle rejected. These were all verbal offers.

“Arsenal are currently expected to have a transfer fee of £70m for Bruno Guimarães. £70m probably won’t be enough to convince Newcastle yet, but it will get them closer. Arsenal are therefore hoping to strike a deal for just over £70m.”

Arsenal have no intention of overpaying. Morgan Rodgers, for example, Arsenal wanted that player, of course he was the top target, but for £90m-100m…they were never going to pay £117m. When it comes to Bruno, Arsenal are very clear. £70 million is a price we’re happy to offer, but we’re not looking to do something completely crazy. Newcastle and Arsenal will therefore have to wait and see what happens next.

But it’s definitely interesting to follow. Because Arsenal have reached an agreement with this boy. And believe me – behind the scenes,[Mikel]Arteta is pushing like crazy to sign Guimarães. Arteta wants him. Arteta believes Bruno is the perfect player for Arsenal’s midfield. So this is a work in progress. ”

Recognized as one of the most complete central midfielders in European football, the Brazilian combines elite defensive tenacity with exceptional press resistance and creative distribution.

Guimarães will bring more control and composure to Arsenal’s midfield. The Brazilian is comfortable in possession under pressure and has a passing range that dictates tempo, helping the Gunners progress the ball more effectively from deep areas.

He will also strengthen Arsenal’s defense. Guimarães is an excellent ball-winner and reads the game well, allowing teammates like Declan Rice to play more freely while providing additional protection in front of the back four.

Guimarães shows creativity not only with his defensive qualities, but also with his ability to spot line-breaking passes and quickly transform defense into attack. His Premier League experience and leadership will be an immediate asset as Arsenal continue to compete for major honours.
