Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

Several top clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United, are monitoring his situation.

According to a report in the Mirror, the player would cost around £70 million, but Manchester United are not willing to pay that amount for him.

The 22-year-old English midfielder has had an exceptional performance in the Premier League and there is no doubt that he has the potential to develop into a top-class player. However, Manchester United decided to back out of the transfer due to the asking price.

The player is reportedly interested in joining Arsenal. It remains to be seen whether the Gunners are keen to sign him. They are looking to sign Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle United, but are highly unlikely to invest in two central midfielders.

The Brazilian midfielder is at the peak of his career and could make an immediate impact at Arsenal. An established star like Guimarães would be ideal for a team aiming to dominate English football and win the UEFA Champions League.

Meanwhile, the Scot is also concerned about the amount of playing time he will receive at Arsenal.

Manchester United will believe that the cost of signing the player should be around £40m. However, the Cherries have no intention of selling him for a reasonable amount. He is an important player for them and they want to get as much back as possible from his exit.

It looks like Scott’s summer move may be a flop for now. It remains to be seen whether another club will make a substantial offer to sign him.
