As part of an existing strategic alliance, the PGA Tour and DP World Tour announced Tuesday that they are expanding their partnership to include the Asian Tour, effective immediately. This partnership will help establish a pathway for Asian Tour members to receive playing privileges beginning with the DP World Tour in the 2027 season for the league’s top players.

Since the league’s inception in 2022, the Asian Tour has partnered with LIV Golf to create a series of tournaments called the International Series, which will be a key element in LIV Golf’s promotion and relegation. The top two players on the Asian Tour’s Order of Merit were promoted to LIV Golf for the 2026 season, and LIV Golf players also frequently participated in the event.

As part of the partnership, the DP World Tour will return to co-sanctioned tournaments with the Asian Tour in 2027. The relationship between the two leagues dates back to 1999, and they had a partnership from 2016 to 2021, before the launch of the Asian Tour and LIV Golf.

Currently, any Asian Tour member can qualify for the PGA Tour by earning DP World Tour membership and securing a top-10 spot in the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai. This allows players to earn a PGA Tour card for the upcoming season.

“This agreement is another example of what can be accomplished when organizations come together with a shared vision for the future of professional golf,” said Christian Hardy, PGA Tour’s senior vice president of international affairs. “Through our strategic partnership with the DP World Tour, we have worked to create a more connected global golf ecosystem, and we are excited to welcome the Asian Tour to our efforts.

“Together, we create new opportunities for players, strengthen major National Opens around the world, and continue to evolve and strengthen our pathway to discovering and developing the next generation of elite talent.”
