The Chicago Bears have inked running back D’Andre Swift to a three-year extension worth $33.75 million, ESPN reported. The contract carries $27.5 million in guarantees and an average annual value of $11.25 million, placing Swift 14th among NFL running backs in pay.
Swift was set to enter the final year of a previous three-year, $24 million deal with Chicago. Last season (2025) he posted career highs with 1,087 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns on 4.9 yards per carry across 16 games, and added 34 catches for 299 yards and a receiving touchdown.
Paired with second-year back Kyle Monangai, Swift gives coach Ben Johnson a potent one-two rushing duo. Monangai, in his rookie campaign, gained 783 yards and scored five touchdowns on 4.6 yards per carry in 2025, and Chicago finished third in the NFL with 144.5 rushing yards per game.
A 2023 Pro Bowler with the Philadelphia Eagles, Swift has averaged 1,023 rushing yards and 7.5 rushing touchdowns per season with the Bears from 2024–25, along with about 342.5 receiving yards per year in that span. The 27-year-old began his career with the Detroit Lions (2020–22) after being selected No. 35 overall out of Georgia in the 2020 draft, then spent the 2023 season in Philadelphia before joining Chicago.
Swift and the Bears kick off the 2026 regular season on the road against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
