Bowling Green, Fla. — Tiger Woods needs to reserve space on the trophy shelf for his son Charlie’s hardware.

The 15-time major winner, the 16-year-old son shot a 6-under 66 in the final round, winning the American Junior Golf Association team Taylormade Invitational on Wednesday at the Streamsong Resort Black course.

Woods defeated 71 fields, including four AJGA players who were ranked in the top five in his first AJGA title in five events. His previous best AJGA finish was his tie in 25th place at the Junior Invitational held at Sage Valley in March. Woods entered this week’s event and ranked 606th in the latest AJGA rankings.

Woods in the final round featured eight birdies and two bogeys, finishing with a 15-under 201 score in the third round. He closed with four straight pars and won the event by three strokes of fifth-placed Luke Colton, Willie Gordon and Philip Dunham.

Woods began his second tied day with a 9-under 135 after a second round score of 65, followed by a 2-under 70 opening round score.

Woods has already won several vitas on his resume, and he first appeared in the 14-15-year-old category at the major championships of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour in June 2023.

He tried to qualify for the US Open earlier this month, but failed his second attempt, shooting seven strokes with a score of 75-68 at Wellington (Florida) Golf Club.
