The initial qualifying session for the 2025 Man TT Island took place on May 28th, with Dean Harrison setting the fastest lap on his Honda Superbike. Although Monday’s session was canceled due to bad weather and Tuesday’s sessions were prolonged, qualifying formally began on Wednesday under much-improved weather conditions.

Dean Harrison topped the Superbike qualifying with an outstanding lap at 133.069 mph, closely followed by Peter Hickman on his BMW representing 8ten Racing. The top positions in the Superbike category were dominated by Honda and BMW riders, led by Harrison and Hickman respectively.

In the Superstock class, last year’s winner Davy Todd led the times on his BMW, with Dean Harrison and Michael Dunlop also posting strong laps. Dunlop showed marked improvement on his Superstock BMW compared to his Superbike performance.

The Supersport category was led by Michael Dunlop riding his factory Ducati at 127.181 mph, although he seemed slightly uncomfortable on the V2 Panigale. Dean Harrison stayed close behind, highlighting his versatility across various classes.

In Super Twin qualifying, Rob Hodson claimed the top spot, with Michael Dunlop just behind him. Peter Hickman faced some issues during his attempt on the Swan Yamaha.

The Sidecar category, limited to a single lap due to poor visibility in the mountains, saw last year’s champions Ryan and Callum Crow lead with an impressive 118.797 mph lap.

Fan Take: This qualifying update is thrilling news for racing enthusiasts as it highlights fierce competition and remarkable performances from seasoned racers like Dean Harrison and Michael Dunlop. The close lap times across multiple classes promise an intense and exciting race season ahead for the Man TT Island, advancing the sport’s reputation for speed and skill.
