The UEFA draw for the League Phase of the 2026-27 Champions League took place on Thursday in Monaco, setting the stage for the tournament, which begins on September 8. A total of 36 clubs will compete for 24 spots in the knockout rounds.
The draw revealed several exciting matchups, with each team slated to play a total of eight games—four at home and four away, facing eight different clubs.
Real Madrid is set to make a trip to London to challenge the current Premier League champions, Arsenal, and will also host Inter Milan.
Additionally, Manchester City will host Paris Saint-Germain, while Enzo Maresca’s team will venture to Camp Nou for a game against Barcelona.
Other notable matchups include Inter Milan hosting Liverpool, Barcelona visiting PSG, Atlético Madrid taking on Bayern Munich and Manchester United, as well as Manchester United’s journey to face Liverpool. Bayern Munich will square off against Manchester United at Old Trafford, while Arsenal will meet Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena.

UEFA will announce the complete schedule for the League Phase on Saturday.
After the League Phase, teams finishing between 25th and 36th will be eliminated, while teams ranked from 9th to 24th will move into a two-legged knockout phase playoff starting in February. The eight best-performing teams will progress directly to the Round of 16 in March.
From the Round of 16 onward, every knockout round will consist of two-leg matches.
The final will take place at the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid on June 5, 2027.
Currently, PSG is the two-time reigning champion after defeating Arsenal in the previous final via penalties. Only Real Madrid has previously achieved a three-peat in the Champions League era, winning three consecutive titles from 2016 to 2018.
This season marks the debut for four newcomers: Como (Italy), LASK (Austria), Sabah (Azerbaijan), and Viking (Norway) in the League Phase.
