Odds from Sky Bet
2.17pm Yarmouth – Archer’s Grace (nap) ⭐⭐⭐ at 7/2
James Fanshawe’s lightly raced filly Archer’s Grace stands out as a worthy bet. She claimed victory in a 7-furlong all-weather novice race at Lingfield on her third outing. Most recently at Salisbury, she traveled strongly in a 7-furlong handicap but lost momentum under pressure and faded to fourth, though the horses around her have since won races.
One concern is that she might perform better dropping in distance, given she is a half-sibling to the smart sprinter Archer’s Dream, owned by the same connections. Nevertheless, she seems capable of winning at this level. Having a four-month break since Salisbury could mean she’s stronger now, and her knee action might benefit from the softer ground, even if it demands more stamina.
Selection: 2.17pm Yarmouth – Archer’s Grace (nap) ⭐⭐⭐
3.47pm Yarmouth – Kigali ⭐⭐⭐ at 20/1
While Asgar shows promise stepping up in distance for his handicap debut after a recent encouraging run at Kempton, I’m leaning slightly more towards Kigali, trained by Ollie Sangster. Although Kigali has not placed in four maidens and novice races—mostly over shorter distances—he recently ran at 5 furlongs following gelding.
He has shown potential in how he moves during races, and I believe his form will improve now he’s running over longer distances and entering handicap company. His pedigree is solid. Notably, Kigali is also entered for a 1 mile ½ furlong race at Beverley tomorrow, signaling his connections believe he prefers longer distances and may be higher rated than his current handicap mark suggests. Sangster’s stable is known for securing winning streaks, so this could be an opportune time to back him.
Selection: 3.47pm Yarmouth – Kigali ⭐⭐⭐
