This three-year-old has raced three times exclusively over 7 furlongs at Newmarket, securing two victories. His one loss occurred at this Listed level where, despite travelling well, he was green and seemed unsettled by Newmarket’s fast, good-to-firm surface when pressured.
While ground conditions at Sandown might be drying, the course’s demanding finish suits a horse with Cerro Blanco’s round stride much better, offering a less undulating challenge compared to Newmarket. Although he doesn’t obviously require this step up in distance, his breeding suggests stamina, and he clearly possesses considerable potential.

The favourite for this race is Fairy Glen, rated 112, but she returns from a four-month break and is dropping back in distance. Although she did claim a Group race victory over a shorter trip in Dubai earlier this year, that contest was notably weak for the grade.
A worthwhile alternative could be Seet, trained by John and Thady Gosden. Rated 96, she will need to progress to be competitive here but has only competed four times, winning two minor races around a mile. She last ran as joint-favourite in the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot, finishing unplaced but not poorly, and is expected to improve with a longer trip and a few more months’ development.
Seet is a half-sister to Kalpana, a Group 1 winner over 1 mile 4 furlongs and a personal choice as a potential Arc winner. Her dam, Zero Gravity, was a good stayer and succeeded at this level.
