Aston Villa now plotting bargain deal to sign one of Europe’s biggest prospects

There’s been a lot of change at Aston Villa in recent months. Many will assume that it’s been for the worse after four games without a win in the Premier League, but that’s simply a short-term view.

Whilst the Villans lost some top talents, with the likes of Youri Tielemans, Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers heading elsewhere just to name a few, they also invested in some emerging stars.

There have been few immediate positives, but Zion Suzuki has settled well in place of Emiliano Martinez, Johan Manzambi is on his way back to full fitness and the likes of Ibrahim Mbaye are full of potential. Although the impact hasn’t been telling quite as yet, this is a side full of many young talents.

A new era is gradually getting underway at Villa Park. The last ended with Europa League success and Unai Emery will have similar success in mind even after such a heavy transition.

The Spaniard will still need further backing in the transfer window, however, and that’s where more young talents like Luca Weinhandl could arrive.

Aston Villa plotting bargain deal to sign Weinhandl

According to Caught Offside, Aston Villa are now plotting a move to sign Weinhandl from Sturm Graz in 2027. The Villans have dispatched club officials to complete a recent scouting mission on the 17-year-old midfielder, who could complete a move for just £17m.

Joining those in the Midlands in pursuit of the teenage star, Arsenal and Brighton have also dispatched their scouts – sparking an all-Premier League battle ahead of next year.

It’s easy to see why there’s so much interest in Weinhandl, too. The 6 foot 3 sensation has already made 24 appearances for Sturm Graz’s first-team and is deemed to be one of Europe’s hottest prospects.

With George Hemmings and Brian Madjo already beginning to leave their mark on Emery’s side, the addition of Weinhandl would suddenly hand Villa a trio of promising talents ready to lead the club into this new era.

Beating Arsenal to the midfielder won’t be an easy task, but Villa may be able to offer the teenager the promise of instant first-team action. And if this week is anything to go by, this current generation of young talent value that over anything else.
