Although Martin has only won once this season, Marquez has secured five wins in the last seven races, giving him strong momentum heading into the upcoming event. This race is at a track where the Ducati Desmosedici has consistently won at least once in each of the previous ten years, including Marquez’s own double victory en route to last year’s title.
Marquez expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We come off a perfect weekend: the win at Misano gave me a huge boost, especially with the support from so many Ducati fans. I was competitive here in Austria last year, and together with the team, we want to build on this positive momentum and keep battling with the top riders.”
Meanwhile, his teammate Francesco Bagnaia faces a tougher challenge. The two-time MotoGP champion has managed only a single point in the last six races, struggling with grip and confidence on the GP26 bike. “Misano ended tough with a crash in front of the fans, but we must continue working closely with the team,” Bagnaia said. “Austria is a circuit where Ducati has historically performed well, and I’ve had great results here before. We won’t give up and will keep pushing to return to the front.”
Currently, Bagnaia is ninth in the championship standings, falling behind Gresini’s Alex Marquez, who missed three rounds due to injury.
