Titans QB Showdown: Will Revis Brings a Consistent Mindset to the Competition

Turron Davenport, an ESPN reporter who has covered the Tennessee Titans since 2018, shared insights from Nashville on May 28, 2025, about quarterback Malik Levis’s current situation. Last year at this time, Levis was the team’s confirmed starting quarterback, but now he’s facing a tough competition against Cameron Ward, the Titans’ top draft pick.

Levis acknowledged that anyone in his position would feel the pressure, but he’s determined to stay unaffected and maintain his routine. He anticipated the team would draft a quarterback early and mentally prepared himself, which helped him stay positive as he heads into his first consecutive season since his college years at Kentucky and Pennsylvania.

The Titans’ quarterback room includes veterans Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle, which Levis appreciates because it keeps the mood light despite the competition. Levis, understanding the challenges first-hand, has been supportive of Ward as he adjusts to the NFL, praising Ward’s intelligence and game awareness.

Ward expressed gratitude for Levis’s guidance, noting how valuable it is to have advice from someone with real NFL experience. Both quarterbacks, along with Allen and Boyle, participated in a 7-on-7 drill during practice, while coach Brian Callahan cautioned against reading too much into current depth chart orders, emphasizing Ward is still learning.

Levis spent the offseason in California working with quarterback coach Jordan Palmer, focusing on fundamentals and rebuilding his technique. Coach Callahan praised Levis’s improved footwork and control, reflecting his progress.

In a recent drill, Levis showed promise by completing sharp passes despite defensive pressure, though there is still room for improvement as indicated by an interception returned for a touchdown by Mark Perry.

Levis remains ready to step up and make the most of any opportunities, staying confident and committed regardless of his role on the team.

Fan Take: This quarterback competition is one of the most compelling stories in the NFL, highlighting the intense pressure and resilience required at the professional level. For fans, it offers an exciting glimpse of emerging talent and the dynamic nature of team leadership that could shape the Titans’ future and influence quarterback battles across the league.
