Mike Trout Returns to Action as Angel Activates Struggling Superstar from Injured List

Los Angeles Angels’ outfielder Mike Trout is expected to be activated from the injured list on Friday, just before the team’s away game against the Cleveland Guardians. Trout was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a left knee injury and made his return to play on April 30th during a game against the Seattle Mariners.

Before his injury, Trout participated in 35 games this season, playing 22 games in right field and 13 as the designated hitter (DH). During his absence, the Angels relied on players like Jorge Soller, Joe Adele, and Gustavo Campello to fill in right field, with Soller taking most of the DH starts. Taylor Ward and Logan Ohoppe also contributed in the DH role, and the team called up Matthew Lugo to bolster outfield depth.

The Angels have performed fairly well without Trout, holding a 13-12 record and improving their position against the Los Angeles , moving from 12-18 to 36 games played. Trout, an 11-time All-Star and three-time MVP, had a career-low batting average of .179 before his injury, making his mid-order return against the Guardians particularly anticipated.

Fan Take: Mike Trout’s return is a huge boost for the Angels and a thrilling moment for baseball fans who appreciate top-tier talent. His presence not only strengthens the team’s lineup but also adds excitement and competitive spirit to the sport.
