Susumu Fujita’s horse Forever Young, the winner of the 2025 Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) and the Sept. 18 Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes (G1), emerged as the 5-2 favorite after betting closed Sunday in Pool #2 of the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic Future Wager.
The 5-year-old colt, trained by Yoshito Yahagi, led a field of 17 horses plus one “All Other Starters Not Listed” wagering option in the second Future Wager pool for the $7 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic, scheduled for Oct. 31 at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky.
Pool #2 of the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic Future Wager, a win bet with a $2 minimum, attracted total bets of $134,658. A successful $2 bet on Forever Young would return $7.68.
Trailing Forever Young was Sovereignty, trained by Bill Mott for Godolphin LLC — winner of the 2025 Kentucky Derby (G1), Belmont Stakes (G1), and named Horse of the Year. Sovereignty closed at 9-2 odds ($11.14). Knightsbridge, another Godolphin and Mott-owned horse who won the Pacific Classic Stakes (G1), followed at 6-1 ($14.82). Golden Tempo, winner of this year’s Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes for Phipps Stable and St. Elias Stable and trained by Cherie DeVaux, also closed at 6-1 ($15.74). The fifth favorite was Magnitude, owned by Winchell Thoroughbreds LLC and trained by Steve Asmussen, who won the Dubai World Cup (G1) and Stephen Foster Stakes (G1), coming in at 7-1 ($16.62). The “All Other Starters Not Listed” category ended at 14-1 ($30.78).

Previously, in Pool #1 on August 30, Sovereignty was the 3-1 favorite at $8.04, with Forever Young as the second choice at 9-2 ($11.04).
