The New York Giants have reportedly cut ties with Odell Beckham Jr., ending his second stint with the franchise, sources Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network said Tuesday. The 33-year-old — who burst onto the scene in New York as Offensive Rookie of the Year and earned three Pro Bowl nods — was unable to replicate that early-career production upon his return. Although Beckham made the 53-man roster this summer and donned his familiar No. 13 again, he played in only three regular-season games and failed to record a catch on a single targeting.
According to Pro Football Focus, Beckham saw just 20 offensive snaps in those appearances, including six in Sunday’s 12-7 win over the Tennessee Titans. In a related roster move, the Giants added receiver Braxton Berrios to the active roster on Tuesday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Beckham’s comeback to New York carried nostalgia — it’s where he rose to stardom and where he made his iconic one-handed sideline grab in 2014 — but injuries and missed time have interrupted his trajectory. He missed the 2025 season, a stretch that included a six-game suspension for a failed PED test, and had already been out of the league in 2022 after tearing an ACL late in his run with the Los Angeles Rams. He resurfaced with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023, catching 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns, then had an unproductive nine-game stint with the Miami Dolphins in 2024 (nine catches for 55 yards). Beckham’s return to the Giants in June was his first time back with the team since New York traded him to Cleveland before the 2019 season. Despite being the franchise’s second-leading career receiver, his preseason promise didn’t translate into regular-season production this year.
