The Women’s Super League standings are starting to form following the opening four matches of the 2026-27 season.
Defending champions Manchester City remain the only team with a perfect record, winning all four of their initial matches.
Close behind, Chelsea and Tottenham have also yet to be defeated, while the London City Lionesses are not far off the top spots.
Arsenal has had a rocky beginning, capped by a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea, and they face a challenging match at City this weekend.
In contrast, Manchester United enjoyed a boost, securing their first league victory under Eva Olid, which has lifted them up the table and left four teams still seeking a win.
So, which team will prevail in the WSL this weekend?
MANCHESTER UNITED VS. LIVERPOOL
The action kicks off on Saturday as Manchester United and Liverpool both aim to capitalize on recent victories over West Ham and Everton, respectively.
Gareth Taylor is looking to match former United manager Marc Skinner for the second-most managerial wins in WSL history, a feat our simulations give a 17% probability of occurring.
Currently, United are considered heavy favorites with a 63.6% chance of securing three points, having won four of their last five home games against Liverpool (L1).
However, United has conceded goals in each of their last 11 home league games, potentially giving Liverpool a glimmer of hope for consecutive WSL victories for the first time since March 2025 under Amber Whiteley.
While there is a 19.4% chance of a draw, these two teams have never played to a stalemate in their nine previous encounters, with United winning six and Liverpool winning three.
1 – Andrea Medina scored a goal, created four chances, won eight duels and had 11 touches in the opposition box in yesterday’s win over West Ham.
She is the first @ManUtdWomen player in WSL history to produce all of those numbers in one match.

ASTON VILLA VS. CRYSTAL PALACE
Aston Villa faces a challenging season as they remain winless after four matches (D2 L2), resulting in the dismissal of Natalia Arroyo on Tuesday.
Brian Sorensen takes the helm temporarily and will lead Villa against Crystal Palace.
Villa holds a 45.2% chance of winning compared to Palace’s 27.9% likelihood.
A Villa defeat could mark the third time they have failed to secure a win in their opening five WSL matches (after 2023-24 and 2024-25), although they have triumphed in three of their last five encounters with Palace (D1 L1).
For their part, Palace has lost just one of their first four league matches this season (W1 D2), the fewest losses among promoted teams at this point in the WSL.
BRIGHTON VS. CHARLTON ATHLETIC
Two teams hunting for their first win of the season meet at the Amex, as Brighton takes on Charlton Athletic.
Charlton is currently the only team without a point and risks becoming the third side to lose their first five matches in WSL history, following Yeovil Town and Leicester City.
Brighton has not won in their last seven WSL games (D4 L3), just shy of their longest stretch without a victory (nine matches between November 2022 and April 2023).
The Seagulls are expected to win, with a 58.6% probability, while Charlton has just a 19.8% chance of victory.
EVERTON VS. BIRMINGHAM CITY
Seeking their first win, Birmingham City (23.7%) faces Everton (51.8%) who are looking to rebound from a Merseyside derby defeat.
Everton is unbeaten in their last five WSL confrontations with Birmingham (W3 D2), having won their most recent meeting 2-0 in the League Cup.
4 – Only Rachel Williams (6) has scored more goals in their first four WSL appearances than Océane Hurtré (4), with both doing so for Birmingham City Women.

Birmingham has previously gone unbeaten in their first seven away games against Everton in the WSL (W3 D4), although they lost 3-1 in their most recent meeting back in September 2021.
Worryingly, Birmingham has dropped the most points from leading positions this season (four), and coach Amy Merricks will be eager to address this if they get ahead at Goodison Park.
TOTTENHAM VS. LONDON CITY LIONESSES
After their recent win over Brighton, the London City Lionesses briefly occupied second place but were overtaken by Tottenham within a day.
Alexia Putellas made a significant impact with her first goal for the club, ending her longest goal drought in top-flight football since December 2017; notably, she has won 129 of her last 130 matches in which she scored.
Another goal from her would be beneficial, considering the Lionesses have lost all three away games to Spurs in competitions, with a total score of 11-1.
4 – Tottenham have now scored 4+ goals in back-to-back WSL games for the first time in their history.

Spurs are in solid form as well; aside from 2021-22, they have accumulated 10 points after four games, which is their best start since then. A win here would set a new club record for points accumulated after five matches (12 in 2021-22 and 2025-26).
Tottenham is the favorite with a 45.3% chance of victory, while London City has a 27.8% probability, with the draw being a close contender at 26.9%.
WEST HAM VS. CHELSEA
Chelsea has enjoyed an unbeaten start to the WSL, albeit with some tough matches, most recently securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Arsenal.
As they shift focus to West Ham, Sonia Bompastor’s side appears likely to win, holding a 74% chance of victory.
They’re undefeated in all 16 of their WSL encounters with West Ham (W14 D2), whereas West Ham has lost all eight of their home fixtures against Chelsea, yielding a total of 26 goals to only 2 in return.
West Ham recently secured a 2-1 win against London City, which remains their sole victory this season (L3). They are given just an 11.4% chance of winning against Chelsea, with a 14.6% possibility of settling for a draw.
MANCHESTER CITY VS. ARSENAL
The weekend wraps up with a significant confrontation on Sunday.
Arsenal needs to avoid dropping any more points if they hope to keep pace with Manchester City even at this early stage.
Arsenal recently faced frustration in the Women’s Champions League after letting go of a 2-0 lead against Paris FC, ending in a 2-2 draw, partly influenced by Leah Williamson’s unexpected handball due to a defensive error.
The coming match appears challenging, as City has won their last 14 home games in the WSL and could achieve the second-longest home unbeaten streak in the league’s history (Chelsea holds 22 games).
Historically, Arsenal is ahead in head-to-head matchups, winning 12 of their previous 25 encounters (City has 11 wins, two draws).
City holds a 49.4% chance of winning their first five matches in a WSL season for the third time, while Arsenal has a 25.1% win probability due to their recent struggles (D2 L1).
Fan Take: The ongoing competition in the Women’s Super League is crucial for fans, as it showcases emerging talent and exciting matchups. These early matches could set the stage for significant momentum shifts as teams vie for positioning and aspire to make a statement in women’s football.
