Christian Pulisic is looking to renew his contract with AC Milan as he remains “very optimistic” about the team’s future under the management of Ruben Amorim.
Currently, Milan sits in fifth place in Serie A after their first five matches, only two points behind Roma, while remaining unbeaten with three wins and two draws.
Although the team experienced a setback in their Europa League opener, losing 2-0 to Benfica, they rebounded with a convincing 3-0 victory over Lecce in their last league game before the international break.
Pulisic found the net against Lecce, marking his first Serie A goal in 266 days since he scored against Hellas Verona in December 2025.
Before this goal, the American had 39 attempts without scoring in the league, finally breaking his dry spell with his 40th shot.
The 28-year-old had a tough time last season under Massimiliano Allegri, netting 10 goals and recording four assists in 34 matches, with 20 starts.
However, after recovering from an injury that kept him out at the season’s start, Pulisic has quickly found his rhythm under Amorim.
His current contract with AC Milan expires next summer, but it is reported that the club has an option to extend it by an additional year, and the forward is eager to remain in Milan.
“The season started off a bit oddly,” Pulisic shared with Sky Sport Italia. “I was recovering from an injury and was eager to play, but it took some time. I’ve worked with the team and the coach to get back onto the field.”
“We are adapting to his system and his style of play. I’m very optimistic about him. Our last match was one of the best, and we want to keep moving forward.”
“He emphasizes finding certain positions, especially when we have the ball, and specific movements, while still allowing us freedom in attack. However, there are principles and positions we must adhere to.”
“I am genuinely happy at Milan. The club supports me greatly, and while I’m focused on my performance, I hope we’ll discuss my new contract soon. I truly want to continue my journey here.”
Fan Take: This news is significant for soccer fans as Pulisic’s continued presence at AC Milan could elevate the team’s performance and strengthen its competitiveness in both domestic and European competitions. His resurgence could also inspire young talents in the U.S. and further enhance the visibility of American soccer on the global stage.
