The independent wrestling community is mourning the loss of SoCal Crazy, whose real name was Nestor Bustos. The west coast wrestler and trainer passed away at 47 after a long struggle with colon cancer. SoCal Pro Wrestling shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook, expressing their devastation and sending condolences to his family, friends, and fans. Bustos, a beloved figure in California’s indie scene, had a career spanning over 25 years, debuting in 2000 and sharing the ring with many notable wrestlers, including Adam Pearce and The Young Bucks. He held the New Wave Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship for a record 442 days, alongside numerous other titles across various promotions on the west coast.
Diagnosed with colon cancer in 2022, Bustos persevered and returned to wrestling after medical clearance in April 2023. He continued performing for three more years, with his final match taking place at a SoCal Pro Wrestling event in June 2026. Unfortunately, his illness advanced, leading to multiple hospital stays before his passing. A GoFundMe has been created to support his wife, Khai Karma, who is fighting an autoimmune disease.
Wrestling Inc. extends heartfelt sympathies to Bustos’ loved ones during this challenging time.
Fan Take: SoCal Crazy’s passing highlights both the fierce dedication and the physical toll faced by wrestlers on the independent circuit. His resilience in fighting cancer while continuing to perform serves as an inspiration but also raises awareness about the need for greater support and healthcare resources within the wrestling community.
