Two years later, Rodgers seems to be taking time off to handle personal matters, and it’s uncertain if he will return before training camp. Given how seriously he once took offseason chemistry, missing the mini-camp sends a strong signal about his current approach.
As the NFL evolves, players delaying signings isn’t new—Brett Favre famously kept the Packers waiting through parts of two offseasons before signing with the Vikings in 2009. The Steelers face a similar challenge waiting for Rodgers to commit before getting on the field. Both Tomlin and Khan have already opened the door to waiting until late July.
