San Diego FC has announced that 33 individuals will be banned indefinitely from all club and Major League Soccer (MLS) events due to their involvement in violent altercations between supporters following last Saturday’s match against LA Galaxy at Snapdragon Stadium.

Onlookers captured videos of a physical confrontation between fans of both San Diego FC and LA Galaxy in the stands, which resulted in injuries; reports indicate that the fighting continued into the stadium’s parking lot.

In a statement, San Diego FC explained, “After reviewing the incident that occurred post-match at Snapdragon Stadium, we have identified 33 individuals who are now banned indefinitely from participating in all club and MLS events, including home and away matches.” The club is collaborating with stadium staff, MLS officials, local law enforcement, and LA Galaxy to confirm identities and implement the bans. An extensive review of the situation is ongoing, with potential additional actions forthcoming.

The organization stressed its commitment to fostering a “safe, welcoming and respectful environment” for all supporters, emphasizing, “We desire a passionate, inclusive, and safe atmosphere. Everyone in San Diego should feel proud to unite as a community to celebrate the games we cherish.” They reiterated that violence has no place in soccer. Furthermore, the club urged fans to uphold the club’s values and protect the integrity of game day experiences. Violations against MLS fan conduct can lead to significant repercussions, including ejections and bans.

This situation is not new for the league’s latest expansion team; similar incidents arose during a match against a rival LAFC team in April, where San Diego FC also condemned fan violence. The team is set to return to the field at Snapdragon Stadium this Saturday to face Austin FC.

### Fan Take:
This incident underscores the ongoing challenge soccer faces with fan violence, which tarnishes the beautiful game. By taking firm action, San Diego FC is sending a strong message that the safety and enjoyment of all fans should come first, and this commitment is vital for the sport’s growth and acceptance.
