In Indianapolis, Joshuf Questas and his 8-year-old daughter Elizabeth made a special effort to meet Caitlyn Clark by moving from Section 119 to the tunnel near the Indiana Fever bench. Before their nine-hour trip from Minnesota to Indiana, Elizabeth created a drawing featuring the Fever logo and a message saying, “Caitlyn, we love you.” Their effort paid off when Clark took a photo with Elizabeth’s painting, which had “Caitlyn Clark” written multiple times.

Elizabeth and her father also wished Clark a speedy recovery after the Fever announced she would be out for at least two weeks due to a left quad strain. Since Clark’s injury, the Fever have lost games against Washington’s Mystic and the Connecticut Sun. Coming up, Indiana will host the Mystic without Clark and then travel to Chicago to face the Sky.

Joshuf’s family first saw Clark play last season when she was with the Minnesota Lynx, and they quickly became fans. While Sulema, Joshuf’s wife, was concerned about Clark’s injury, Elizabeth was upset about her missing the game but still enjoyed the experience at Gainbridge Field House, which offers plenty of kid-friendly attractions.

The family spent $900 on tickets, highlighting how Clark’s presence influences ticket prices. Data shows that ticket prices for Fever games increase significantly with Clark’s participation, with some resale prices rising as much as 366%. For example, tickets for an upcoming game against the Sun are 62.7% more expensive than tickets for a recent game. Prices also rise modestly for games against the Mystic and the Sky, showing the strong draw Clark has for fans.

Despite Clark’s injury, fans remain supportive, finding joy in seeing her at games and still backing other players and the WNBA as a whole.

Fan Take: Caitlyn Clark’s influence on ticket prices and fan enthusiasm underscores her rising star power in the WNBA. Her presence not only elevates the competitiveness of the Indiana Fever but also brings increased attention and economic impact to the league, signaling positive growth for women’s basketball.
