Gurv Sihra, known in WWE as Sunil Singh and one half of The Bollywood Boyz, revealed that recent X-rays still show a lung injury from a collapsed lung he suffered over two weeks ago during a wrestling match. Although he isn’t yet allowed to wrestle or fly, his doctors have cleared him to begin working out.
Sihra shared this update on The Bollywood Boyz’s X (formerly Twitter) account following a medical follow-up, stating: “Just finished my follow-up with my ER Trauma Doctor. X-rays indicate I still have a cut on my lung tissue caused by a rib impact, which is leaking air. I’m obviously not cleared for in-ring action or flying yet, but I’m able to start exercising, which is great.”
The injury occurred on Saturday, September 19, during a Pure Power Wrestling tag team match in Lethbridge, Alberta, where Gurv and his brother, Harv, won the PPW Tag Team Championship against Shaun Martens and Sydney Steele. Sihra mentioned that the collapsed lung resulted from a routine move he’d performed many times before. Despite the injury, he finished the match but had difficulty breathing and standing backstage afterward.
In his initial injury update, Sihra expressed gratitude for surviving, quoting his ER doctor who said, “You are very lucky to be alive. You had angels watching over you.”
Gurv Sihra, aged 41, and his brother were part of WWE from 2016 to 2021. They started in the Cruiserweight Classic and appeared on 205 Live as The Bollywood Boyz before being rebranded as The Singh Brothers in 2017, supporting Jinder Mahal during his WWE Championship run. Gurv also held the WWE 24/7 Championship in 2019. After their release in June 2021, the brothers have been active on the independent circuit, wrestling for DEFY Wrestling, AEW Dark: Elevation, and Ring of Honor, and even securing the WSW Tag Team Championship in Australia in 2025. They discussed their WWE tenure in a 2024 interview with WrestlingNews.co.
Fan Take: This update highlights the physical toll wrestling takes on performers, reminding fans to appreciate the resilience and risks involved. Gurv Sihra’s determination to return to fitness despite a serious lung injury is inspiring, signaling that seasoned athletes continue to push boundaries and contribute to the sport’s evolving narrative.
